With the world's ever-growing population and the ever-growing need to have food, fertilizers play a key role in increasing the productivity of crops in a sustainable way. The Serra do Salitre Mining Complex (MG), with an investment of around US$ 500 million, has as main goal to increase the national production of fertilizers and, thus, to reduce dependence on imported raw material. By producing fertilizers in the Serra do Salitre - near the main agricultural centers of the Country, Southeast and Cerrado - region, the company contributes even more relevant to the development of the sector.

In order to actively participate in the development of our country, in this and other segments, FKB is proud to be one of the suppliers of special valves to compose this project, aiming to offer the best solution to control the flow of fluids across the line process of the fertilizer plant.

A few weeks ago, we manufactured and delivered several Square and Rectangular Knife Gate Valves, model VGU-09, with special automation. Developed and designed exclusively for this partner, the valves will be installed in the Complex, and have an extra particular automation system: accessories for ON / OFF and intermediate actuation (3 stages), pneumatic actuator with emergency system in case of lack of air, (cylinder feed network) in total stainless steel to avoid contamination by the aggressive environment, and electromechanical sensors, thus guaranteeing the high performance of the equipment in dry rock transport.
