[Knife Gate Valve for Water Treatment]

October / 2014 - The use of knife gate valves in Sanitation is becoming more common and frequent, especially in sewer lines, collection and treatment of raw water.
This increase is not only the natural result of higher investments in the sector in which Brazilians are still very poor, but due to various Companies of Sanitation and its Engineering found that the model of valves currently used - Butterfly Valve - is not attending satisfactorily applications containing suspended solids, such as sticks, plastic, leaves, stones, sand, etc.

Because of the concept of the Butterfly Valves have the shutter when exposed to fluid, even when the valve is fully open, the "suspended solids" curl or hamper the shutter disk, damaging its properly closing, consequently, its tightness. This factor, which also increases the risk of early wear of the seat and / or shutter, in addition to further increase the pressure drop / flow already generated by the disc, even when the valve is 100% clean. The FKB knife gate valves feature 100% tightness in both senses, full bore without accumulation point and face-to-face ‘Wafer’, which ensures very low pressure drop, and the face-to-face close to Butterfly Valves.

On the image, a large FKB supply for the segment: 34 knife gate valves with electric actuators, with remote control and location for SAE Ituiutaba, Minas Gerais.

In this supply, besides the manufacture of valves with actuators, we also offered transport and technical support for supervision of installation and start-up monitoring.
