The Challenges for Tomorrow's Industrial Market

Comparison between FKB Knife Gate Valves and the Traditional Gate Valves for the Current and Future Industry Scenario in the World.

[The Challenges for Tomorrow's Industrial Market]

With the growing demand for industrial projects, the search for technologies that attend effectively and inexpensively becomes essential with each passing day.

In face of these needs, we have prepared a Technical Comparison about two types of valves widely used in Brazilian and worldwide industry.

  • Rubber lined wedge Gate Valves (also known as "Register")
  • VGU-01 Knife Gate Valves (Manufactured by FKB)

The Rubber lined wedge Gate Valves are designed and manufactured in accordance with NBR 14968 and NBR 7675 standards and have the single objective to blocking fluids with 100% watertightness with temperatures not exceeding 60 ° C.

VGU-01 Knife Gate Valves are designed and manufactured in accordance with MSS SP81 and NBR 7675 standards and in addition to having the goal of blocking fluids with 100% watertightness, it is not limited to the temperature factor, being able to withstand high heat indexes.

The main characteristics of the comparison are presented in the table below:

Os desafios para o Mercado Industrial do Amanhã

With this technical comparison, it is possible to identify that Knife Gate Valves VGU-01 have greater advantages to the Rubber lined wedge Gate Valves Besides that, we know that Knife Gate Valves have a higher level of protection, lower weight, they are compact in relation to the same category and have a lower cost regarding the medium and large gauges.

However, before making a choice, it is always important to identify each one of the requirements of the project and be aware of what the responsibility bodies have to say.
